Confirmed – 19 y/o Heading Out Of Leeds In January

|

Leeds United fans hoped for big things when we confirmed that highly rated Jack Clarke would return to Elland Road for a season long loan following his summer transfer to Tottenham Hotspur.

Having seen him depart for a reported £8.5 to £10million deal, plenty thought he’d gain good game time under manager Marcelo Bielsa again in 2019/20 but for whatever reason he’s only appeared twice in the 2019/20 campaign, with one 19 minute substitute showing in the Championship.

With so much talk of a recall, it’s no great surprise to see chief executive Angus Kinnear confirm that Spurs have now informed us they will be using the recall clause in January.

From our point of view, given his lack of game time, it’s not exactly a massive loss – there will be an element of financial gain here on his wages – and it means that Bielsa doesn’t have to keep rejigging the substitutes bench given the loan cap in a match day squad.

It didn’t work out, we all move on.

Should We Replace Clarke Or Not?
