Loads of Leeds supporters loved Kappa’s design for our centenary season home kit, but the pink and grey away shirt received wide-ranging criticism with fans slating the move away from the club’s traditional colours.
Many felt the Italian sportswear brand responsible for our strips should have used blue or yellow for the away design, which instead took on a different colour palette as the club sought to attract a younger audience.
Managing Director Angus Kinnear confirmed the club’s intentions with the design recently, and stated that two more kits are on their way to celebrate our 100th anniversary.
However, some Whites supporters on Twitter have been discussing if the initial opposition and criticism of the pink and grey design came too early, now that fans have been given time to see the strip in action against Bristol City and Salford City.
Some still have their objections to the kit, with suggestions of the blue and yellow goalkeeper strip being a far more appropriate design for our centenary season. But there are some who think the grey and pink is ‘brilliant’ and that it was a great decision by the club to sanction Kappa’s move away from our traditional colours.
Here’s what these fans have shared…
I really like the pink away shirt, think it’s different. I know there’s a one off shirt for Birmingham game to come

Away shirt looks great! Home kit is a classic. Looking forward to seeing the centenary special editions..

It’s clearly like marmite. Ppl love it or hate it. I hate it, would hate it if it wasn’t our centenary year. It’s one of the worst kits I’ve actually seen from any team.

Not as many people moaning about Ben white, the owners, the kit, selling Pontus, selling odour, securing Harrison again, or maybe I’ve just blocked them all ????

Still a ‘no’ from me.

Still think the white one is much better. Goalie kit would have made a far better away kit…in my humble opinion.????

My view was and is that in any other year the shirt would have been acceptable and greeted as such. The disappointment is that in our centenary year we haven’t done something more retro with both shirts to celebrate our past.

It’s bloody awful, more I see it more I hate it! Makes our fan base look ridiculous – some lads look like they’ve got a big pink belly or chest! ???? def suits ladies more – reminds me of a ladies gym top!!
