Leeds United fans have had to endure a difficult week after suffering a 4-1 defeat to promotion rivals West Brom at the weekend.
That result has put a serious dent in the hopes of Marcelo Bielsa’s side returning to the Premier League next season and considerable improvements are needed when domestic football returns next weekend.
Despite the lull of action due to the latest international break, Leeds fans have had plenty to discuss this week after it was confirmed that Southampton striker Charlie Austin would not face punishment for the FA after he criticised the officials after the 1-1 draw with Watford.
Austin was furious that his goal, which would have been the winner, was disallowed and declared VAR is necessary next season in a scathing outburst after the game – but he somewhere managed to avoid a ban.
The decision came just a month after Leeds defender Pontus Jansson was issued with a ban after his ‘robbery’ comment and fans on social media were understandably furious at the FA.
We have gathered some of their reactions below.

The club has to approach the FA and have a full explanation of what makes the two different and then it needs to be made public. Because right now it looks like very clear and obvious discrimination against our club and our players.

In any future interview the players after a poor ref display should use Charlie Austin’s words – word for word clearly they are acceptable. The FA should be made to explain the differences #joke #lufc #oneruleforone

Double standards

Genuinely can’t understand this – surely it’s time for @LUFC to ask for an investigation

And Charlie Austin had 10 mins after game to call down not 1 minute

About time the FA stopped punishing LUFC and issued the same rule for every team. #DoubleStandards

Absolute double standards that is there now way the club can make an official complaint? No consistency at all
