Leeds United twice came from behind to claim a point in a pulsating game at Upton Park.

Boss Simon Grayson brought both Jonny Howson and Max Gradel back into the side after missing in midweek through suspension.

Ramon Nunez and Michael Brown dropped out of the side. Nunez was amongst the substitutes whilst Brown was missing through injury.

West Ham started on the front foot and Leeds keeper Andy Lonergan was busy in the opening five minutes.

Firstly, he saved a Jack Collison header before making two more saves from Carlton Cole and James Tomkins, both being tipped over the bar.

He could do nothing in the sixth minute when Cole got ahead of his marker to volley West Ham into the lead.

The goal seemed to galvanise Leeds and they came back at West Ham strongly.

Gradel had an effort from a tight angle tipped over by Robert Green and Andy Keogh saw an effort go just wide.

Robert Snodgrass went even closer when his left foot volley crashed against the top of the crossbar.

Leeds missed a glorious chance to draw level when Matt Taylor was penalised for handball in the West Ham penalty area.

Gradel stepped up from the penalty spot but sent his effort wide of the post.

Moments later Gradel tried to atone for his miss when he had Green at full stretched with a long-range effort.

Leeds would have felt unlucky to go in at the break one down after dominating after conceding the early goal.

Leeds started the second half the same way as they ended the first and they had strong claims for a second penalty waved away after Aidy White was fouled in the area by Scott Parker.

Andy Keogh then found himself with just Green to beat but he hit his shot straight at Green. From the rebound, McCormack fired his shot over the bar.

Keogh was in the thick of the action and his good work down the Leeds right eventually found McCormack but his flicked effort was easy for Green.

Leeds eventually got their deserved equaliser and once again, Keogh was involved. His good interchange with Snodgrass teed up McCormack who crashed the ball into the back of the net.

West Ham came straight back at Leeds and Kevin Nolan saw his chip just clear the Leeds crossbar.

All Leeds hard work was undone within three minutes of the equaliser when Patrick Kisnorbo crashed his shot into the back of his own net.

The goal seemed to deflate Leeds for a while and Lonergan was again in fine form with saves from Tomkins and a point blank save from Winston Reid to keep Leeds into the game.

Scott Parker fired wide and Tomkins saw another header go wide of the post as West Ham searched for a third.

In the final ten minutes, Leeds started to gain some momentum again Adam Clayton saw his long-range effort go over the bar.

Leeds got the equaliser their overall performance deserved in the final minute of normal time, when Clayton fired home after Jonny Howson had seen his shot comeback of crossbar and post.

There was a possible flash point in injury time when Tomkins and Darren O`Dea squared up to each other with referee Michael Oliver producing a yellow card for both players.

A well-deserved point for Leeds and the signs that they will once again be there or thereabouts come the end of the season.
