Bristol City expert reveals the one thing Marcelo Bielsa must get right for Leeds to dominate

No side has so far been able to go to Ashton Gate and play Bristol City off their own pitch, but Marcelo Bielsa can ensure his Leeds United squad do the unthinkable after a Robins expert revealed the one killer factor to Lee Johnson’s gameplan.

Speaking to Leeds Live, Gregory Macgregor of Bristol Live revealed that our next opponent’s biggest weakness at present is in their lack of end product and that is very telling in their recent results.

While they have managed to find the back of the net 17 times since the turn of the year, they are without a win since February 12 and in their past three Championship games have recorded fewer efforts on goal than their opponents.

This worrying trend for the Robins was exemplified against Preston North End last Saturday, when Johnson’s side only registered three shots on target despite finding the net in the 69th minute.

For Macgregor, the reason behind this shocking return is that when the space on the flanks is restricted, the Robins struggle to create chances. If Bielsa spreads Ezgjan Alioski and Luke Ayling out wide on Saturday, and Jack Harrison and Pablo Hernandez offer adequate support, occupying this space should not be too problematic for the Whites.

Take away that threat, and Bristol City should struggle to get their gameplan in operation and the Whites will have the chance to dominate at Ashton Gate, clinch the three points on offer and retain our place in the top two.
