Bielsa needs to think clever and make bold selection call this weekend

|

It looks as though Kemar Roofe is going to be fit to play this weekend but Marcelo Bielsa simply must not play him, it’s as simple as that.

Whilst we wait to see what is going to happen with Patrick Bamford and any potential ban, it would seem clear that Roofe is first choice to come in as main striker and play v Ipswich.

With nothing riding on the game and the play-offs up next, though, Bielsa must be bold and rest the striker as well as several others – even if it means we lose against the Tractor Boys.

I never want us to lose but we must manage these play-offs well at the end of a tiring season and it is safe to say that we’ve got a smaller squad than most going into it.

Where we can get an edge we must act, and it seems to me that resting Roofe is a big opportunity to do that.
