Leeds United have been in formidable form this season and opened up a four-point lead at the top of the Championship after beating fellow promotion-chasers Derby County on Friday evening.

The Peacocks stand with a strong chance of earning promotion to the Premier League for the first time since suffering relegation in 2004 but work in the transfer market may be required in January to bolster their promotion push.

However, Marcelo Bielsa’s side have been handed a blow as Dutch outlet BD states Willem II striker Fran Sol has agreed to join Ukranian giants Dynamo Kiev, bringing an end to speculation that he could move to English football.

26-year-old Sol has been in superb form for the Eredivisie side this season, standing as the second highest scorer in the league and hitting 17 goals in 20 appearances across all competitions this term.

Sol is the sort of striker that could have provided a significant boost to Leeds’ push for promotion and missing out on his signature may be a massive loss, particularly if there are bumps in the road during the months ahead.
