Bielsa Approves “Significant” Fee Departure At Leeds

With ongoing speculation about the future of Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa following our failure to gain promotion to the Premier League in the Championship season of 2018/19, the expectation is an announcement will be made this week – but there are certainly reasons to be positive given claims of additional work and change at the training ground that he wants done.

A report over the weekend also gives good hope he has agreed to allow the club to obligate him next season as per the original contract signed, as it’s been claimed that Bielsa has now greenlighted the sale of Yosuke Ideguchi.

Claims of a departure for the 22-year-old aren’t a great surprise as following his arrival he quickly became a forgotten man at Elland Road and with injuries hitting, his loan spells away from the club haven’t been a roaring success either.

Short of the implication it gives about Bielsa’s continued involvement at the club, the greatest surprise is the ‘significant fee’ although it must be said this is in no way quantified or justified as a claim and it would be a significant surprise if we even broke even on the reported £500,000 we originally paid Gamba Osaka.

Let’s hope it’s true though as it’ll all help to strengthen the group.
