Leeds United had fans talking a year ago when the club scrapped it’s plans for a new badge, but could hit our centenary season with a new logo after all.
When the Whites began issuing adverts for season ticket renewals, for what will be our 100th campaign as United, fans were quick to notice a slight change to the badge being used.
Rather than the shield that has adorned our kits since 1999, the top of the advert featured a more reserved shield without the ‘LUFC’ lettering down the spine, but rather the words ‘Leeds United’ at the top and a ribbon below denoting 100 years.
Compared to the ‘salute’ crest the club planned on introducing before quickly scrapping last year, it is a very conservative step taken by the designers, likely to reduce the risk of mass criticism again but still celebrate our centenary season.
Officially, Leeds are yet to reveal any change to the badge for next season, but once an eagle-eyed supporter noticed the modifications, other fans were quick to respond on social media…

Quite like the #lufc badge, but always liked the letters. Put the name on if you want – I can get that. But the letters I’ve always found cool.

I get the feeling club are using these as feelers. With this one and the one on new suits, I think they’re doing some stealth market research ????????????????????

Playing ‘safe’ I would think

Centenary year. Back in the prem hopefully , new design would be best imo away from the shield , needs the rose needs to mention 100 years and needs lufc on it

Things to do when there’s 10 days between Leeds games:
