‘Atrocious’, ‘Can live with that’ – Lots of Leeds fans react to potentially massive change

Leeds United had fans talking a year ago when the club scrapped it’s plans for a new badge, but could hit our centenary season with a new logo after all.

When the Whites began issuing adverts for season ticket renewals, for what will be our 100th campaign as United, fans were quick to notice a slight change to the badge being used.

Rather than the shield that has adorned our kits since 1999, the top of the advert featured a more reserved shield without the ‘LUFC’ lettering down the spine, but rather the words ‘Leeds United’ at the top and a ribbon below denoting 100 years.

Compared to the ‘salute’ crest the club planned on introducing before quickly scrapping last year, it is a very conservative step taken by the designers, likely to reduce the risk of mass criticism again but still celebrate our centenary season.

Officially, Leeds are yet to reveal any change to the badge for next season, but once an eagle-eyed supporter noticed the modifications, other fans were quick to respond on social media…
