‘Another poor Orta signing’ – Some Leeds fans react as 6 ft 2 ace’s killer flaw laid bare

Some Leeds fans have been reacting on social media after LUFC Data shared which United player had the worst goals conceded record in the recent campaign.

Looking at any player who represented the Whites on route to a Play-Off Semi-Final place, nine men on average conceded a goal or more per game. While only six players were able to end the term without seeing the United net ripple while they were on the field – although all of said six players at most played four times (Aapo Halme, Leif Davies, Will Huffer, Tom Pearce, Ryan Edmondson and Izzy Brown).

The worst culprit, though, was our only senior January addition Kiko Casilla, who conceded 22 times while on the field during his 19 appearances for 1710 minutes as a United player, most crucially his horrific blunder in the Play-Offs.

That meant the ex-Real Madrid man conceded an average of 1.16 goals per game, marginally edging Pontus Jansson, who ranked second with an average of 1.15, despite holding a worse minute per goal conceded record at one every 72.67 minutes compared to the Spaniard’s 77.13.

Bailey Peacock-Farrell, meanwhile, conceded an average of 1.07 goals per game after conceding 30 times during his 28 Championship appearances – for a minute per goal conceded rate of 84.00.

Given Casilla’s record, it makes it less of a surprise the club are allegedly already willing to part ways with the 6 ft 2 shot-stopper, who earns in excess of £30,000-a-week.

When LUFC Data shared these figures on Twitter, here’s how these Leeds fans reacted…
