One day, this faux-rivalry with Derby County is going to come to an end.
Sadly, today is not that day.
First there was Spygate, then there was the dramatic playoff semi-final at the end of last season.
Now, with the release of the ‘Take Us Home’ documentary on Amazon Prime, there are a lot of people out there who are making the same joke. It revolves around the final match of the season against the Rams and it’s usually words to the effect of ‘I don’t want to spoil the ending’.
And Derby fans aren’t backing down from it either.
Something tells me this does not have a happy ending for Leeds fans.. #dcfc ????

So when The Derby Telegraph decided to up the ante in trying to antagonise the Leeds United fan base, they got a pretty vitriolic response. What’s even worse is I’m sure we’re going to revisit this all over again when the two sides meet each other next month in the Championship.
Your ending wasn't much better pic.twitter.com/gqwGd59L5m

Haha Derby got promoted at Elland road and still didn’t go up!

What did Derby achieve ???? oh yeah you’re still in the championship

Derby acting like they haven’t bottled like 5 play offs in a row

It's enjoying to watch Derby fans clinging on to the idea that they ruined the season for us, when they didn't go up themselves either. Last season was our best in 15 years. Derby bragging and laughing about their biggest result of the season won't change that.

I preferred your ending. Never celebrated a Villa goal like that before.

????????????Rather smug for a club that got comprehensively outplayed for 3 1/2 out of 4 games against Leeds and then dominated by Villa to end back in the Championship.

Did your parents ever tell you not to sink to someone’s level? Well, I think that advice could be very apt at this time. Just ignore them, eventually this whole thing will blow over and we can get on with our lives.
