‘Worth a punt’, ‘Not what we need’ – Five goal man leaves these Leeds fans underwhelmed

Another attack minded signing? Oh go on then.

Turkish outlet Fotomac are reporting that Leeds still have an interest in signing Swiss forward Michael Frey, even if they aren’t his club’s preferred destination.

Reports from Sport Witness are suggesting that England is Frey’s first choice of destination, so he may have to fight tooth and nail to get his wish, because he is being offered by Fenerbache to Caykur Rizespor as part of a deal that would see Vedat Muriqi come the other way.

He suffered from injuries last year, restricting him to just 22 appearances in all competitions last year, meaning he only managed to get 5 goals, a huge drop-off from the previous year when he managed to get 16 goals and 6 assists for FC Zurich.

Whilst these rumours could rumble on for some time, it’s been left for Leeds fans to wonder if they should even be chasing him.

Perhaps because of his recent injury, or maybe they’re happy to leave the responsibility to Kemar Roofe and Patrick Bamford after their hauls last season, for the most part, Leeds fans weren’t overly impressed with the link. Although there some who kept their ‘In Bielsa We Trust’ hats on, claiming that he’s just the kind of man that can turn him into a goal machine in the Championship.
