Wise Manager of the Month Again!

Dennis Wise has been announced as the Football League One manager of the month for the second month running.

With Leeds United remaining unbeaten, there was only one real place it could go, despite the nomination of Colin Calderwood, who is building a mini Nottingham Forest revival of late thanks to Junior Agogo’s sudden realisation of just where the goal is.

Unlike last month, where Wise belittled the award due to the 15 point deduction that Leeds suffered at the start of the season, the Whites boss moved quickly to praise those around him who had helped to make Leeds the team to beat this season: “We’re all a group,’ he said. ‘It’s not just staff, players and fans. Everyone involved with this club – we’re all in this together.”

Speaking on behalf of the Manager of the Month awards, Chris Kamara said: “Leeds United have been the form team in The Football League in the first two months of the season.

“Dennis Wise has developed a tremendous character and team spirit at Elland Road which was there for all to see in the way his side battled to earn a draw at Gillingham, despite playing much of the second half with only nine men.

“To have already climbed out of the relegation places given their points deduction is a tremendous achievement and a tribute to how well Leeds have been playing.”
