Dennis Wise has blasted a moment of madness that allowed Luton to equalise deep into injury time at the weekend to snatch a point.

With literally seconds to go a routine throw-in wasn’t dealt with an Sam Parkin nipped in to equalise much to Wise’s disgust as he told leedsunited.com: “It was a poxy goal. It was a throw-in, he gets it, he gets it back and he crosses it.

“You can’t go to sleep like that. We’ve conceded goals from silly situations, and it’s madness. We’ve worked so hard, we’re in front, and we concede a poxy goal like that.

“It’s poor defending. Why did we let him cross? There were 30 seconds to go. You get in his face and stop the cross. It’s a bad decision at a crucial time

“It’s naive. They get that way in some of the things they do. It’s not for the want of us explaining things to them. You carry on showing them things and explain, but they need to learn quickly because we’re making mistakes.”

Leeds remained in 5th spot on league one and head to Southend on Tuesday night looking to narrow the gap on the leaders, which would have seen them currently in 2nd spot but for the late goal.
