Marcelo Bielsa has picked up the Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month award for August in a nod to his top start at the club.
The Argentinian swept into Leeds on a crest of excitement and disbelief in the summer and he has quickly gone about exceeding our expectations.
Of course, it is still early and things can change but it seems safe to say that we are one of the strongest sides in the league right now and capable of winning promotion.
Among the hype of him taking the gong, though, Phil Hay has revealed a couple of interesting insights that you may have missed.
Indeed, firstly that he’s the first manager to win the award since Simon Grayson – which says a lot about the years since – whilst as a club we’ve never won both the manager and player award together until now.
Finally, Bielsa didn’t have his photo done, underlining his humility and clear aim that there are bigger things to celebrate later this year:
Bielsa being Bielsa, he declined to have a photo with his trophy yesterday. Reluctant to make a big deal of it so early in the season. Must be pretty happy with the month behind him though. #lufc
