A few Whites supporters have been lauding the ‘brothers of destruction’ Mateusz Klich and Kalvin Phillips on social media, after Leeds United StatZone shared the pair’s “excellent” stats from our Championship fixtures this term.

Klich and Phillips have been pivotal aspects of Marcelo Bielsa’s plans at Elland Road in 2019/20, as the Argentine strives to go one better than last season and secure United’s long-awaited return to the Premier League.

Phillips has not featured as much as Klich as a result of his suspensions and knee injury, but the Leeds-born 24-year-old has still managed to start all 31 of his league appearances to date. Bielsa is yet to tackle a second-tier fixture in England without Klich in the opening line-up, meanwhile.

The duo’s outings in West Yorkshire have now been noted as returning an average 76 touches per game for Phillips and 64 for Klich, whilst they complete 82 and 81 per cent of their passes, have played 58 and 65 key balls, won 51 and 49 tackles and recorded 40 and 17 interceptions respectively.
