Leeds United will re-enter negotiations with Swansea for the transfer of Daniel James in the summer, according to the Mirror, and these Whites fans have been having their say.
James was Marcelo Bielsa’s top January transfer target and United spent the month attempting to force through a move despite strong resistance from Swansea.
It finally appeared as if a deal was struck on Deadline Day, but the Welsh outfit negated the agreement and opted to retain the 21-year-old’s services for themselves, rather than loaning the winger to Leeds with an option to buy.
Thus, the saga seemed to have reached a natural stopping point, but already speculation has returned that Leeds will again look to land Bielsa’s top target, but now in the summer.
The Mirror are claiming that United will continue to track the one-cap Wales international’s progress, knowing that the Swans’ negotiating position could be weakened when the season ends as there would be just 12 months remaining on James’ contract.
Having the same rumour that haunted Leeds throughout January return, fans would have been forgiven for wanting the Whites to walk away entirely…
I think so, rather than looking back we should be aiming for good younger players to build our team around.

Don’t think we’ll bother if we go up

Have my doubts Dan James will come to us in the summer. If we go up, we might aim a bit higher (though there’s plenty of room for wingers), and if we don’t go up, I get the sense someone will swoop in with more money. #LUFC

Wouldn’t go near Swansea after last fiasco unless it’s agreed before season starts at the beginning
