The Leeds manager says his side could be too ‘pretty’ for their own good, and he wants to see ‘ugly wins’ as they challenge for promotion.

Blackwell: ‘The stats on possession would be very interesting, but they mean nothing if you don’t create enough chances.

‘We have got to take the blame for not being aggressive and assertive enough in the last third which is something that has not happened now in the last two games.

‘This has not been an issue before, but sometimes you need a ball to break your way in the situation we are in right now, and it has not quite happened. We deserve a goal, but that’s not always what sometimes happens.

‘We could well play really badly and win 1-0. At this time it’s all about the results and not the performances. The performances have been okay, but we have just been lacking that last-third cutting edge and invention. I have got one or two players who are able to do that, and now I am asking them to step up to the plate.’
