Well, we’ve nearly had a weekend without a manager but I seem to think that next weekend we might know who’s going to be in charge next season.

The Whites, of course, sacked Paul Heckingbottom at the end of last week and rumours have been rife over who might come in to replace him.

Indeed, Marcelo Bielsa seems to be the most prominent link right now and that would certainly put the cat among the pigeons if he was to sign.

And, as per Phil Hay on Twitter, it looks as though talks are underway and there is actually interest from both parties:

Let’s see the reaction to this…

The Verdict

What an appointment this would be.

I know he can be a bit of a livewire at times and lose his cool but he’s seen as one of the best coaches around so it would be a real statement if we could somehow bring him in.

  • A good call at last. Really hope deal goes through. Finally a coach who can breath confidence in the team, teach them how the game is played and not just how to stop the opposition play. Just look at Wolves as an example, dominant in all games even the ones they failed to win, their game plan, their passing, all players had confidence and belief in themselves and the team and the end product was an unexpectedly easy promotion. My negative comments on Heckingbottom’s appointment that it was a backward step and a huge mistake proved to be exactly that.

We have quite a decent squad but lack in depth quality. Hope board/owner invest in quality over quantity. Much excited on this news. MOT
