Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says they are unwilling to let Luciano Becchio leave the club unless they have a replacement.

Becchio put in a transfer request last week and he was left out of the Leeds squad on Sunday, as they toppled Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup.

Warnock says he must have a replacement for Becchio and with the transfer window closing in just over 72 hours, he expects everything to go down to the last minute as all clubs are in a similar scenario.

Speaking on Talksport, Warnock said, “Whatever happens we can`t let him go unless we get a replacement in.

“Everything seems to be last minute in the transfer window.

‘It seems other teams don`t want to let their players go until the last minute so sometimes you can`t do your own business until then.”

Leeds have already turned down at least four bids for the 29-year-old striker who has netted 19 times this season.

Bids have been tabled from abroad with clubs in China and Turkey being linked as well as a host of Premier League sides.

The transfer window closes at 11pm on Thursday.
