Well, talk about making a good first impression.
I said before the game that Illan Meslier was in a rather tough position, in that the game with Arsenal was essentially a proving ground for him, and a bad performance could instigate bringing in another goalkeeper during the transfer window.
But it’s fair to say that he passed the test with flying colours.
As @LUFCDATA pointed out, he made 23 successful passes for a completion rate of over 82%, made four saves (three of which were inside the box) and overall looked incredibly confident on the ball, almost as if he hadn’t been waiting in the wings the whole season.
And needless to say, Leeds fans were blown away with his performance on the night, with many of them praising his distribution more than anything. It looks as though Kiko Casilla might have some competition, whether he gets suspended or not. Looks like the battle to be the number one goalkeeper at Elland Road just got a little bit more exciting.
Jeez meslier has a ping on him !!!!

Meslier is looking every bit of a keeper Kiko is, get him in the first team as soon as possible

Meslier could play centre mid and nobody would know different. Wand of a left peg.

Can good displays from Meslier potentially dislodge Casilla?
If he performs this well when and if Casilla does have to take some time off, it looks like we’re going to be OK in the goalkeeping department.
