Many Leeds United fans were salivating over the prospect of Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard moving to Elland Road.

According to the Daily Star, Marcelo Bielsa is plotting a money-spinning move for the France U21 international, on the basis that the Whites secure their promotion to the Premier League for the first time since 2004.

Edouard is under contract at Celtic Park until 2022 and Hoops boss Neil Lennon previously stated that his club will do all they can to retain his services. It is easy to see why he is such an attractive proposition.

Before the campaign was brought to a halt, the Frenchman scored 27 goals and provided 19 assists in 45 games (as per TransferMarkt), essential in securing their ninth league title in a row.

Because of this, supporters were excited about the prospect of Edouard playing for Leeds and made their feelings clear about him on social media. One fan compared him with Mark Viduka due to his record, while another simply stated, “what a signing this would be”.
