Our Director of Football Victor Orta only revealed to Sky Bet at the start of the week that he nearly quit his role at Elland Road over mistakes he made last season, and now Football Insider have brought his greatest failure of the current term to light.

In his interview with Sky Bet, Orta noted how the criticism he received over the initial influx of signings he made tempted him to accept one of a number of offers to return to Spain.

His wife was the one who stepped in to save his Whites career, though, after she told him: “Victor, don’t be stupid. If you believe in what you are making, don’t be in Spain watching Leeds United get promoted.”

We are now on course to achieve such with Orta still very much a key figure at the club, but the mistakes unfortunately followed into the current term.

Football Insider have revealed that Izzy Brown has set us back a staggering £27,000 for every minute he has played, as we have only been able to witness the 22-year-old on the field for nine minutes since he was passed fit to play.

Being passed fit to play meant we were then responsible for paying his £25k-a-week wage, having managed to get Chelsea to agree to keep paying it while he was ruled out with a horrific cruciate ligament injury – altogether we have paid Brown £250,000.

Bielsa not trusting Brown, or even selecting the attacking midfielder from the bench, has made the decision to bring the former England youth international to West Yorkshire a poor one to say the least.
