Victor Orta set to be rocked by insulting offer for promising Leeds duo – report

|

Our stellar campaign under Marcelo Bielsa was never going to go bye without Premier League sides paying attention to those performing well at Elland Road, and Football Insider understand Bournemouth are keen on two of our stars.

The offer the Cherries are reportedly willing to place in a double-swoop on West Yorkshire would be an insult if Victor Orta accepted, though, as it is claimed the south coast natives are intent on signing Jack Clarke and Kalvin Phillips for a combined £25million.

It is said that the Vitality Stadium residents place Clarke in the £10million bracket following his breakthrough season, and consider Phillips a £15m talent.

If that is true, it is £5million less than their south coast rivals were suggested to be considering for Phillips, who emerged as a target for Southampton over the weekend.

Bournemouth also recently signed Dominic Solanke from Liverpool for an eye-watering £19million, even though the English centre-forward only managed to score once in his 27 senior appearances for the Reds, and is yet to open his account at the Vitality Stadium, having featured on eight occasions under Eddie Howe.

Clarke, on the other hand, burst out of our youth ranks to act as a key rotation player for Bielsa, and has already scored twice and created a further two for his teammates.

Unlike Southampton, Football Insider also believe Bournemouth will make a move for our super duo in the summer irrespective of what division we find ourselves in – the Saints are unlikely to bid for Phillips if we secure promotion.

The Cherries are making a habit of signing potential English stars of late, and are claimed to be keen to continue down this route, having lured Lewis Cook away from Elland Road in 2016.
