Victor Orta has a Leeds apology to make

|

Leeds crashed out of the play-offs last night against Derby in dramatic fashion and it was certainly not the sort of evening we were hoping for.

At 2-0 up in the tie, I was starting to believe we were going to Wembley but then Casilla and Cooper combined to let Derby back in and the rest from there is history.

Certainly, then, we will need to dust ourselves down but you do wonder if January had been different we might have just made the top two and got ourselves into the Premier League.

Victor Orta has done some great work in recent times – even if his start at the club was poor – but for a lack of a Samuel Saiz replacement, he must surely apologise.

We needed someone like that time and again since January and against Derby I truly believe we’d have had the tie put to bed with a Saiz-like player in the team.

He’s done good work, but he dropped a clanger here.
