‘Victor needs to look again’ – Many Leeds fans react as Orta’s final target remains a possibility

|

Many Leeds United supporters have been reacting on social media, after Leeds Live reporter Beren Cross shared that Director of Football Victor Orta may still be able to land Liverpool winger Ryan Kent on loan.

Kent is believed to be the final player from Orta’s preliminary summer transfer shortlist to still be on the board heading toward Deadline Day, and has not given up hope of making a deal happen despite Reds boss Jurgen Klopp insisting the player will not be loaned out.

Orta will only be able to sanction a temporary deal for the Oldham-born wide man, however, as the Anfield natives have placed a £10m to £12million asking price on the 22-year-old, which Leeds cannot meet under any circumstances.

A loan would be financially possible if Klopp has a change of heart as the summer deadline nears for English sides, though, as it has been alleged previously that the German’s side would consider offers in excess of £1million enough for a term.

United chiefs face a waiting game to see if Liverpool do warm to sanctioning a loan request against their manager’s current standpoint, but Kent’s camp are alleged by Cross to be confident a temporary move is in their client’s future.

They are believed to be sceptical in any side coming forward before the window slams shut with an offer the Champions League holders would deem adequate, and fear that would seriously hinder the minutes that will be on offer to the former England youth international.

Rangers’ interest in the 5 ft 7 winger remains, though, and Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox natives stand an advantage in time as the Scottish market remains open until September 2. If Liverpool decide to hold out in hope of a permanent offer until the English market closes, they will have the Gers to fall back on.

Here’s how these Leeds fans reacted to Cross’ update on Leeds pursuit of Kent…
