Leeds are back at the top of the Championship after a hard-fought victory over Wigan Athletic, which has left plenty to discuss.

The Peacocks fell behind with just six minutes on the clock but equalised moments later through Pablo Hernandez, before Kemar Roofe scored the winning goal in the second period to hand Marcelo Bielsa’s side all three points.

Roofe’s tally for the season now stands at an impressive seven goals and two assists in 10 appearances, which has led to a suggestion that Premier League clubs are eyeing a potential swoop for the 25-year-old.

With his fine form and reported interest in his services, former Leeds defender Ian Harte urged the club to hand the forward a new deal – and his claim earned plenty of negative reactions from supporters on social media.

The general consensus is that handing a new deal to Roofe would be premature and he should be playing for the shirt rather than for a new deal.
