“Very poor”, “Crossing below par” – Lots of Leeds fans underwhelmed by £15k-p/w man in win

Lots of Leeds United fans were left underwhelmed by Jack Harrison’s efforts during our 2-0 win over Hull City on Tuesday night.

Harrison was handed the starting role on the left of midfield once again by manager Marcelo Bielsa, who has trusted the Manchester City loanee to open each of our Championship fixtures this season.

The 23-year-old had hit a terrific vain of form in October that flowed throughout the month and into November, firing home three of his four league goals and penning each of his five assists for the campaign thus far.

He could not stretch his tally in either account against the Tigers, though, with Harrison only recording one key pass and zero shots on target before being hauled off in the 69th-minute for Ezgjan Alioski.

Harrison had tried his luck with two shots before Bielsa made his first change of the night, but saw one blocked and failed to guide the other on target, per WhoScored data. He also misplaced seven of his 34 total passes, registered 53 touches, attempted – and completed – one dribble, and was dispossessed once.

Of his total 34 passes, five were attempted crosses, but neither managed to find a teammate in the Hull penalty area. None of his passes were deemed to be long balls by Sofa Score, either.

The £15,000-per-week winger lost possession 18 times on Tuesday night, as well, the same amount of times as Luke Ayling, but less than Pablo Hernandez (26), Mateusz Klich (20), and Stuart Dallas (22) of our players who started.

Should Bielsa drop Harrison vs Cardiff on Saturday?

Yes, absolutely

No, stick with him

After replacing Harrison with 21 minutes to play, Alioski took 17 touches, completed nine passes – three long balls, no accurate crosses – scored from his only shot and won one of six ground duels.

Here are some of the messages shared from fans left underwhelmed by Harrison’s performance against Hull City…
