Now here is possibly one of the greater definitions of a ‘one-club man’.
As part of the club’s 100 years celebration, they are putting on a number of events this season to help mark the occasion. One such event is The Centenary Gala Dinner, and it is set to feature a number of Leeds United’s former great players.
One of the names that is set to make an appearance is Jack Charlton. Charlton played his entire club career at Elland Road before going on to have a respectable managerial career, although he never did manage to come back and take over the Whites.
So when the Elland Road Twitter account decided to bring his name up to help promote the event, they asked fans where he stood amongst the all-time greats at Leeds United.
Whilst there were only a small number of fans were actually able to put a number on his position amongst the great Leeds players, it gave other fans the opportunity to reminisce about the former defender and talk about some of the lasting memories that he’s left at Elland Road.
Big Jack. Pillar of the defence and scourge of goalies on the goal-line. Always remember his last minute v Arsenal in '71 I think it was. Didn't do us much good in the short term after Spurs' capitulation in the last game.
He's one of Revie's and a World Cup winner. Your choice.
