United Top for Two Hours

We’ve been called lucky by at least two other Vital Football sites, but the table doesn’t like as Dennis Wise talks of his delight of being top of League One, despite the Football League 15 point penalty handicap.

Without the 15 point penalty, Leeds would currently sit 12 points ahead of the chasing pack however it was nice for The Whites to sit top of the tree, albeit briefly, a sentiment echoed by manager Dennis Wise.

Speaking to Leedsunited.com: ‘It was very nice,’ said Wisey.

‘I don’t think anyone would have predicted that, but I’d rather be at the top on May 4.

‘There’s a long way to go. It’s a nice achievement so far, but it counts for nothing.

‘It was nice to put our toe on there, but it’s what happens over the next few months that really matters.’

Leeds face current first placed team Swansea on Saturday, with a win potentially taking the club back to the top of the table, should Nottingham Forest fail to win at Gillingham.
