Former Hull City striker Abel Hernandez was very strongly linked with a move to Leeds United this summer but as we know, nothing came of it owing to his reported wage demands of the club.

Having presumably priced himself out of a move within England, further reports suggested that Russian side CSKA Moscow were interested in his services, but as covered previously, there were complications to that deal as well and it did appear that it might become a very difficult summer for the 29 Uruguayan capped international.

He has now tied up his future though and CSKA have announced his capture on a formal basis and I guess it was a relief for the free agent.

Given his injury record in England though, despite his prolific rate in front of the net, plenty of fans were happy to see the club dodge his signature and that outlook only seems to have strengthened in recent weeks.

In fact, some of the responses on social media to his deal were positively harsh!
