Transfer suggestion will excite but Leeds must learn not to get excited after previous blows

|

Speaking to Football Insider, Noel Whelan has suggested that Leeds United might well have agreed a deal with Daniel James in the ‘backroom’ over a summer switch to the club.

The Whites came so close to signing James in the January window, of course, and was at the club ready to confirm the deal on Deadline Day.

However, Swansea pulled the plug on it and the deal since has only been spoken about rather than had any reignition.

Even so, Whelan is of the opinion that we might have agreed a deal to bring him in – but we should not get too excited just yet.

Whilst many of us want to see him back at the club and actually our player, such suggestions cannot be read into too much.

It’ll be easy to get excited by Whelan’s notion but, as we have seen, until the ink is dried on the contract nothing is certain.
