Tranmere Rovers boss Ronnie Moore has spoken of his delight at facing recently relegated Leeds United on the opening day of the 2007/08 League One season. When the season kicks off August 11th, Leeds will make the journey across the Pennines to Merseyside where they will face Rovers for the first time ever in league competition.

It`s been 7 years since Leeds and Tranmere have met in a game of football; two Darren Huckerby goals were not enough to see Leeds through to the next round of the League Cup as The Whites went down 3-2 in extra time.

‘What a fantastic start to the season,’ said a delighted Moore. ‘You couldn’t ask for better.
‘We should get a good crowd and the thought of the mighty Leeds coming to Prenton Park will get everyone excited.”

Everyone in the league mocks us for our relegation, but they`ll be flocking to the stadiums to see their clubs playing the mighty Leeds. Football at it`s hypocritical best!
