Talk about leaving via the back door.
Hadi Sacko has departed Leeds United and signed for Turkish club Denizlispor on a two-year-deal. The transfer has gone under the radar so much that Leeds haven’t even posted a goodbye message or even a confirmation on their website. Although, given his record, do you think the club should really bother?
Sacko didn’t have the best of times at Elland Road in terms of stats, only producing three goals and four assists in all competitions over his two-year spell, although his pace down the flank and ability to create a chance certainly made him a popular figure with the fans.
As a result of his disappointing time at the club, and in the hope he’d develop better elsewhere, he was sent out on loan twice last season, to Las Palmas and to MKE Ankaragücü where he had a little bit more success, with a return of three goals and one assist in his fifteen appearances.
When it came time to say goodbye to the Leeds fans for Sacko, he did so with class. Posting a message to his Twitter feed, he thanked the fans for his time there and called it an honour to have played for them.
Naturally, Leeds fans jumped in to reply to him, showing that although his time was short, he’ll always have a place in their hearts.
Good luck mate. Was desperately hoping things would work out for you here. Never mind.
All the best #MOT
