Marcelo Bielsa’s men got back to winning ways at Elland Road last night, seeing off a strong West Bromwich Albion team in a 1-0 victory, their first win at home in over a month.
Promotion favourites Leeds currently sit top of what is a very open Championship division this season, though their recent form at Elland Road had been patchy, with the concession of late goals costing them dear of late.
Both Swansea City and Derby County have scored injury time strikes at Leeds in recent weeks – goals that have ultimately cost Bielsa’s side four points – so relieved supporters were quick to pay tribute to their hard earned win, while acknowledging Slaven Bilic’s Albion side looked a very decent team. Here’s what was said after Egzijan Alioski scored the games only goal:
As others haves said, my favourite moment was the final whistle.
I'm all honesty I simply loved the determination and grit we showed tonight. Total passion all over the pitch!

We seem to do better against teams that don't park the bus at Elland Rd. #LEEWBA #Leeds #LeedsUnited

Best team to play at Elland Road this season

Many United supporters were pleased to see the spirit, determination and desire on show to secure the three points. ‘Whites’ fans were also quick to recognise the quality of the West Bromwich Albion team they faced and how it brought out the best in their own side on the night.
It was also noted by many that United’s attacking threats were aided by a West Brom side looking to win the game themselves and not ‘park the bus’ and play for a point.

Finally, in light of recent late setbacks, plenty of fans were just pleased to hear that final whistle and enjoy that winning feeling at Elland Road once more.
