With the final friendly now in the books, it’s all eyes on the Championship now for Leeds United.
And according to Gaetano Berardi, everything is in place for the club to mount a challenge for promotion. Speaking after the 1-1 draw away to Cagliari Calcio, the defender spoke about the game, but also about pre-season as a whole. He called it ‘long and tough’ but said that he thinks the team is ready to take on the challenge that is ahead of them this term.
Those comments though fell on deaf ears for a few Leeds supporters. This pre-season hasn’t all gone smoothly for Bielsa’s men. Whilst victories over the likes of York City & Tadcaster Albion are fine, the heavy defeat to Manchester United and general complaints about the makeup of the team has meant that pre-season hasn’t all gone down well with the Elland Road faithful.
In other words too long and too testing…imagine what the softies thought of it…!!????♂️

This teams defence is gonna get torn apart . So if we wanna run the club with small squad prepare for next season in championship.

“long and tough pre season” does that mean we’re all knackered before the season starts?

Although depending on who you ask, Berardi might not be around to see much of the season. Having been sent off seven times during his time at Elland Road, one fan was keen to joke about his ill-discipline, although some did take it a little bit further than just a joke.
Gaetano Berardi looks ahead to the new season and at new and interesting ways he can get sent off

We’d have done better (much better) without you in the team

We’re stronger with him suspended so he’s right in a way.
