‘Tin pot’, ‘one goal’: These Leeds fans disagree with Bielsa’s assessment over cup loss

|

Well, this is quite possibly a first.

It looks as if Leeds United fans have finally disagreed with head coach Marcelo Bielsa about something. Although, I don’t know why it’s taken them so long, I’ve been disagreeing with Bielsa for some time now. Looks like I was just early to the party.

Leeds were eliminated from the Carabao Cup last night by Stoke City on penalties. Having gone 2-0 down before half-time, they managed to get the game back to 2-2 with goals from Eddie Nketiah and Helder Costa.

However, their attempts to complete the comeback fell just short as Jack Harrison missed the final spot-kick to send the Potters through.

Speaking after the game, Bielsa said that “being eliminated is disappointing”, although it turned out a lot of Leeds fans didn’t exactly share the boss’s sentiment. In fact, the vast majority of them were glad that their cup run is over, as it meant they can now focus more on the league campaign.

I wonder if they’ll be taking the same attitude when the FA Cup rolls around in the new year?
