Three Wins On The Spin As Leeds Put Bielsa’s Blues Behind Him – Match Stats

|

With West Bromwich Albion opening up a seven point gap on us with their recent victory, Leeds United were back in action earlier this evening as we made the trip to the Riverside Stadium to face Middlesbrough – and it was very much a case of keeping the pressure on in the race for the Championship top spot.

It was a lively opening 45 minutes and although the hosts had chances, they failed to test Casilla between the sticks, but we had our usual control with a good number of efforts testing their stopper. In first half stoppage time we got our reward as Mats Klich opened the scoring to send us into the break with the advantage.

Although we all predictably failed to increase that advantage, we did keep the clean sheet to take a 1-0 victory and they didn’t really trouble us in the second period.

The gap to Albion is cut once again and hopefully, we can keep this winning run going now and get closer to them again.
