Three Leeds Players Will Get Interest This Summer “For Sure” According To BBC Pundit

|

Former Leeds United player and BBC pundit Noel Whelan is ‘sure’ that the club will be batting away interest in Jamie Shackleton, Jack Clarke and Kalvin Phillips this summer given the 2018/19 campaign that each of them had under manager Marcelo Bielsa this season.

Shackleton and Clarke took their moments to shine across the year and plenty of fans would’ve liked to have seen a fair bit more of them as well, but undoubtedly Kalvin Phillips was one of the stars of the season given the job he did in midfield and there are already reports about Premier League clubs sniffing around him in particular.

Speaking to BBC Radio Leeds recently, Whelan had significant praise for how the 23-year-old had stepped up and performed for the side this season.

“They will be looking at Jamie Shackleton, they will be looking at Jack Clarke, they will be looking at Kalvin Phillips for sure because he is playing in a position which is a disciplined position, which is needed by successful clubs. He sticks to his game, he does everything right, he has improved, he has matured and he is coming into an age now where he is only going to get better and coming into his better years.”

We can certainly expect some interest and probably a few bids, but we’d have to be talking silly money to even entertain moving him on for me. He’ll be massive for us again next year as we look to go one step further.
