Leeds caretaker manager John Carver said he could not defend the players after an awful display saw Leeds beaten 5-1 at Luton this weekend.
The result all but ends John Carver’s chance of becoming full time manager if last weekends defeat to Stoke had not already.
Leeds went behind when Carlos Edwards finished from a tight angle in 12th minute. Hayden Foxe’s did level for United with a header.
But Leeds fell apart in the second half conceeding two goals in three minutes – a chested effort from Rowan Vine and a David Bell strike.
A Markus Heikkinen header made it 4-1 and Edwards turned in Vine’s deflected cross to complete Leeds’ misery.
