Leeds need to start signing more footballers, that would be my pretty basic assessment of the summer window so far.

The Whites have been far from good enough in the market, let’s be fair, and we need to start seeing some action before the concern growing at the club becomes a little more serious.

With that said, then, it looks as though we’ve still got a chance of going for Abel Hernandez if we so wish.

The Uruguayan forward has received a contract offer from CSKA Moscow but he and his agent are stalling with his representative having this to say to Brazilian outlet Diario Carioca – via the YEP:

“Hernandez is not a CSKA player yet but we received a good offer from them. We are delighted with this interest. Let’s just wait.”

Why would they wait? Unless they feel another offer could be potentially on the way.

The Verdict

Of course, I might be adding two and two and getting five but that’s what the window does to you.

Even so, I think there is something in his agent’s words and so, hopefully, they are waiting for Leeds to get a package together – providing he doesn’t want heinous wages.
