Leeds United’s deadline day capture of Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah was certainly welcomed by the fanbase given our lack of alternative options at the top of the pitch following Kemar Roofe’s departure for Anderlecht, and it didn’t take the 20-year-old long to impress.

Having been given a bit of time to adjust to his new surroundings, the young lad took to the pitch for his debut in our EFL Cup clash with Salford City, and he found the back of the net.

With Patrick Bamford making it three in three for him, Nketiah continues to find his feet and in Monday afternoon’s Under 23 clash against Millwall, he found the back of the net once again as Carlos Corberan picked up another victory at that level.

Another tidy finish from him on a good break and another 45 minutes under his belt that should only help him to settle in further and get used to his new colleagues.

  • why play him in under 23 games ??? FFS the guy was in the squad for the premier league at Arsenal playing for under 23 s isnt what he needs he needs games back to back in the first team !! the goal can score for fun in the lower leagues and in the under 23s well enough said really !! WTF !! He is Arsenal through and through and if he isnt going to get games back to back week in week out then might as well come back to the gunners and sit on the bench ! He will learn more by simply watching and training with Abua and Laca and Pepe than he will by being playing in silly under 23 games !! fact final finished !!

    • Given this is what Bielsa does – as shown by the other first teamers in the group – I imagine it can only help Nketiah settle with his new teammates and more quickly adjust to what our gaffer wants from him. Really not sure why the overreaction from Arsenal fans?
