These Leeds Fans Want This Man In The Side After Another Injury Blow

|

With Leeds United confirming yesterday that Ezgjan Alioski’s season was now over following the torn meniscus that saw him substituted after only 12 minutes in Easter Monday’s disappointing loss to Brentford, the first thought for most was who would replace him for the remainder of the campaign.

With two matches left in the regular season, barring a massive slip up by Sheffield United when it comes to the automatic promotion slot, we will have a season extension for the Play-Off battles and fans on social media have come up with a not so surprising preferred replacement.

With Gaetano Berardi, Stuart Dallas and Leif Davis the more likely potential replacements for the 27-year-old Macedonian, plenty believe that 19-year-old Jamie Shackleton should be given the extended run in the position to see what he can do – despite it being on the opposite side.

It seems unlikely that this will be how manager Marcelo Bielsa will pivot here, but it’s understandable as to why fans want to see more of Shackleton.
