It wasn’t the result we wanted earlier today against Brentford but at least we didn’t lose the game to them.
If you can’t win, don’t lose, especially when it is a game against a side that will be challenging for promotion.
Certainly, I thought we were the better side but with the ref clearly from the other side of the Pennines or Brentford we were never going to get many decisions from him.
Indeed, we had to muddle through with what was thrown at us and that included seeing Ezgjan Alioski drop to a left-back role.
I thought he did well there, too, with his quality on the ball delivery wise combined with his energy and work-rate.
For sure, he does at times look lightweight for that role but he did well today and these fellow Whites feel the same:
Clever from alioski to win the foul from a dangerous position, good delivery, good finish from Jansson with the header, 1-1 fair I think, need pablo, roofe, berardi and douglas back after break I think #lufc #mot #SkyBetChampionship

As I’ve said before:
Alioski would be a much better LWB ! He’s infuriating as an attacker but his fitness, durability, effort, speed, defensive awareness and tackling ability make him an excellent attacking wing back. #LUFC

Jansson MOTM. Think Alioski did good as wing back. Good game.
Ref among the worst I ever seen. #lufc— Rasmuz Agrell (@RAgrell) October 6, 2018
Alioski did well at left back. Ayling was terrible today. Pontus class as always. #lufc

Alioski at LB in this system is pretty good #lufc

#lufc Alioski makes a great left back. Good delivery and almost impossible to be offside. ????

Let’s see, then, if after the international break Marcelo Bielsa decides to play him there more.
