Across the entire 2018/19 Championship campaign, Leeds United fans have had to suffer shock jock pundit claims that manager Marcelo Bielsa was overworking the side and ultimately, come the end of the campaign we’d run out of steam.
We heard it loudest come Christmas and it’s made an appearance amongst the usual suspects pretty much every month since, especially after a defeat or a draw and even when a player has succumbed to injury.
Funnily enough though, few of the usual suspects have bothered to even note the way our season has been interrupted by injury, and they seem to miss the most obvious fact – we create above average chances at goal, but the entire campaign has seen us struggle with a clinical edge.
With the press relishing the attempt to criticise the club after back to back victories and the obvious consequence for our automatic promotion hope, Talksport’s Ian Abraham’s didn’t disappoint this week.
“History shows Marcelo Bielsa’s teams run out of steam, it’s happening now.”
“Leeds are stalling, you don’t want to go into the playoffs when you’re stalling.”
“I’d be worried if I was a Leeds fan.” 😬@BroadcastMoose on #LUFC ⚪️ pic.twitter.com/jozeatW8Zp

Leeds fans weren’t going to miss the opportunity to correct him, with those pesky things known as facts.
Disagree with us running out of steam. We dominated Sheff W and Preston only a couple of weeks ago and walked away with the points. Went behind twice vs Millwall and came away with the win. We're not clinical enough is the main thing and defensive errors have cost us past two.

Lack of cutting edge, yes. Run out of steam? Absolutely not. Still the fittest team in the league. We seem to have lost our mojo at a crucial time but it’s not down to tiredness.

We haven't run out of steam at all… we just can't finish, every game we have been involved in we have pretty much battered teams.

We've battered every team this season. We can't finish. That's the issue. Bielsa is god.
