One of the more regular pieces of transfer speculation on Leeds United’s rumour mill the last few weeks has been a potential interest in Liverpool winger Ryan Kent, with the youngster largely impressing during a loan spell in 2018/19 with Scottish side Rangers.

The 22-year-old winger scored six times and provided nine assists in his 40 starts and three substitute showings, but at least looking through a bit of fan reaction, the Ibrox outfit had mixed thoughts on his performances.

Former player and BBC pundit Noel Whelan feels that he’d be a fantastic addition at the club if we could capture him on a loan spell next year.

“I’m really impressed with him at Rangers last season, hence why Steven Gerrard brought him in there, because he knows he’s a very good player. Fantastic feet, great turn of pace, got a trick in him and definitely got goals in him and assists. I saw him when he was on Barnsley and what a great talent he was playing for them. If we did get him, absolutely fantastic. He’s the sort of player we need at Leeds United, it would be fantastic to see him in the white shirt. That sort of player at Leeds would excite the fans. The style that we play, especially from wide areas, he’d fit right in.”

Throughout the speculation linking him to us, plenty of fans were already questioning whether he’d actually be an upgrade on Jack Harrison and thoughts were mixed, but with reports suggesting that Kent had already rejected the possibility of moving to Elland Road, that’s made plenty of minds up it seems.
