Leeds United’s summer capture of Patrick Bamford hasn’t really gone how anyone would’ve hoped given how his season and form has been interrupted by injury but the 25-year-old has still contributed nine goals and two assists in 17 starting appearances and seven substitute showings.
Clearly, there’s room for improvement in his performances and his eye for goal, even though on a stats front that’s not a bad record at all. Following his successful deception charge following the Aston Villa game though, Wednesday evening’s second leg Championship Play-Off Semi-Final clash with Derby County is the perfect chance for him to put that right.
Especially following the confirmation that Kemar Roofe has been ruled out of the game with injury, and manager Marcelo Bielsa will undoubtedly turn to Bamford now given his suspension ended after the first leg.
Speaking about his teammate in this week’s pre-game press conference, Liam Cooper said.
Cooper on Bamford and his ban for simulation: "Pat came straight in an apologised to me and the staff. Sometimes in the heat of the moment you make stupid decisions but for the last 10 days he's work hard. We all know what he can do. He's got this unbelievable confidence in him."

These fans are certainly backing him to bounce back in style.
On his day he’s quality, just don’t see it enough

Needs to show it on the pitch. Run hard, show an arrogant and aggressive side to his game. There's a player in there and Wed is a massive opportunity for him to make amends. @LiamCooper__ @Patrick_Bamford

What’s done is done. He’s apologised so let’s all move on and do this together. COME ON LEEDS ????????

Nice to read the guy has some humility. Embarrassing for #LUFC. If he scores the winner on Wednesday it will be forgotten forever.
