Leeds United are being tentatively linked with Besiktas attacker Jeremain Lens according to press in Turkey.

We apparently had scouts in place for their 3-2 victory over Sarpsborg in the Europa League last week and the 31-year-old did score twice in the game, and according to a few reports and translations, he was pretty impressive.

Some may remember his name though, he was on the books of Sunderland for a couple of season’s and at least from what I remember of his time in England, he was about as useful as a chocolate teapot when dealing with lava and they struggled to give him away as they suffered successive relegations.

I’m sure this is the rumour mill warming up as January nears, but it looks like he’s only scored four times in 14 appearances for Besiktas so quite why he’d now become useful in the Championship is slightly beyond me – although granted they may not be playing him centrally?

Whilst plenty of fans pointed out his age, and whether he could even be considered as competition for Kemar Roofe, Patrick Bamford or even Tyler Roberts, some thought there might be some sense it in.

Maybe my recollection of him is harsh or there’s a Bielsa tie in somewhere that I’m not aware of, but I can’t see that one.
