“There Is A Lingering Worry” – Leeds’ Patience Has To Be Applauded

|

Following the worrying collapse of Academy graduate Jack Clarke in the dugout during the Championship game against Middlesbrough earlier this month, it’s already been confirmed that the 18-year-old has not been training and has been taken out of first team contention as he continues to be monitored.

He was given the all clear at the hospital as we took the necessary precautions and with further tests taking place, they have all come back clear which is obviously great news and in the latest Inside Elland Road podcast, Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Phil Hay gave an update on the lad and explained why news of a return to action had been quiet at this stage.

“He didn’t train last week and won’t be in full training this week. He had tests in London and it sounds like everything has come back all clear. But there is a lingering worry of why it happened and whether it will happen again. Leeds are taking their time, which is the right thing to do.”

Health naturally comes first and he’ll return when we are confident he should do so, but until then and whilst questions remain about the cause, it makes all the sense in the world to not rush anything and give him the time necessary.
