Amongst a lot of the bluster against Brentford at the weekend, there was one positive at least to take from the game.

The Whites should have won it, at least, but eventually we settled for a point despite the added attacking impetus that young Jack Clarke brought when he came on.

The winger looks all of 12 but he came on and quickly underlined why Marcelo Bielsa is trusting him with a display that lacked any fear whatsoever.

A player who could have been daunted, he quickly got at Moses Odubajo, winning fouls and, really, the Brentford man should have been sent off with Dean Smith pulling him off as he got roasted.

After the game, then, Clarke took to Instagram to reflect on his fine debut:

An exciting player that will want to become a hero of ours, he’ll now be itching for more minutes in the coming weeks and months.
